So last night before I went to bed my eye was irritaing me. Woke up this morning and I have pink eye. It's really annoying and I've never had it before. The doc said it's in both eyes. So I'm outta work till Tuesday. I work in a hospital and I really think they'd rather I didn't spread it around. I'll only be missing 3 days. I already have Monday's off.

So...workin on my DIY invites is out of the question. I'd hate in infect them lol that sounds so gross!

Yesterday I e-mailed our potential photographer and told them we want them to do our wedding!!! We just have to sign and return the contract with our deposit. I'm really excited about getting this done. After we send in the contract I'll post more about who they are and what they offer. I'd just rather have it official before I start bloging about them.

I guess thats it for now, I need to use my drops and go to bed.

I think he was jelous becaue I was sitting on the floor cutting instead of paying attention of him. The box he is in is what my paper came in and where I've been keeping it, safe from my cat...As you can see it's full of peanuts. He got in this because I yelled at him for walking across the cutting board. Picture 2 is him getting ready to jump out, picture 3 is him trailing the peanuts out (that great thing called static) It was all over him! The 4th pic is him pouting because after I cleaned him off I still wouldn't play with him. And, after all of his hard work he finally falls asleep.

However right now he is running up and down both sets of stairs growling. Yeah, growling, I swear he's crazy.

Wow, I'd heard that making your own invites it tedious but geeze. Don't get me wrong. I couldn't find something that I really liked, and I knew that it would be a lot of work, so I'll be happy when I'm done and I have beautiful pocket fold invits, but it's kinda exausting! I just scored 20 sheets of 105# card stock. That stuff is Thick!! Then I had to cut the point for the outter flap, and the inner point for the pocket itself. The hardest part is not having an exact template for my points. I have wasted a TON of paper trying to get that perfect.  Yes I know, they don't have to be perfect, and I know they never will be and that's part of what bothers me :-)    And YES I also know these will all end up in the trash but what can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment!

Ok, I'm back from my birthday trip. It was just my FI and I and was so great to spend that time together uninterupted. But now the birthday is over, I'm now a year older and I'm back in the states, which all mean one thing....time to get back to wedding planning!

The night before we left for London I got my paper form Anchor Paper. It really made me a little nervous because I was affraid that the whole time I was away I'd be worrying about getting started. Well, I didn't think about it once! :-) I did make my first mock-up. It took 3 hours. This is because I didn't really know how to make the templates for the points. That took me a long time to measure and find the center and I am very precise when it comes to stuff like this. But I did fianlly get it done and I think it looks great. Actually, I almost have it done, I haven't yet taped down the fold to make the pocket, i'm waiting to see what the suggestions are on the knot. I also need to make the inserts. At this point I don't really know what I'm supposed to put on them....

BM Dresses!!

Saturday the 17th my self and my 4 BM and my mother went to Amanda's Bridal to find their dresses. I few weeks ago I sent them all an e-mail asking them to search around the internet a little and send me pictures of their top 5/6 dresses. I thought I was being really nice. Well they all did it and to my surprise they all picked a lot of the same dresses! They seemed to like the Mori Lee style (which also happens to be my desinger) and so I found a store that I THOUGHT carried Mori Lee dresses. We all met at Amanda's, which was PACKED on the 17th, and tried to find the dresses only to find out they only carry the Bridal dresses. Well, they tried on a TON and none of them really impressed us. We decided to try Flat Iorns mall. We first went to Dilliards and found one really good dress. I didn't like how low cut it was but one BM said she could fix that, it also wasn't the exact color I liked. We put them on hold and went to Macy's. There we found it! I love the dress.  The picture below is my Matron of Honor and one of my Bridesmaids. I thought I had more pictures but they turned outo to be videos .lol they are navy blue and long, halter tops. I think they are really pretty. It's strange because I alsways thought my BM's would weat short light blue or light yellow strapless dresses. I think these will make a great look.

Photographer

We met with our first photographer yesterday the 19th. It went really well, I'm pretty sure we'll be booking them! It is an engaged couple and they were so adorable! They are getting married in April and were really great to talk to! I really feel that our personalities worked well together which I think is very important. They have everything we are looking for and are an INCREDABLE price!! The name is Porchlight Photography. I'm excited to put down the deposite and sign the contract. They have somewhat of photojournalistic approach, but just enough traditional to work for us. We don't want a ton of formal "staged" pictures and they don't really like to do that either. They are very open to stagging pictures that we really want, but mostly like to hang back and just shoot what happens. Another great thing is if they see something they tought was a great photo op but missed taking it in time, they will ask us to re-do it. We also get to do an engagement session with them. I'm SO HAPPY for that. I had thought that was out of the question because of the cost. YAY! I'll post more on this as we book them and take the e-pics.

Caterer!

This has been a big one. We have a list of approved caterers we're allowed to use with Lionscrest. At first I thought this was great, then I hated it because everything is so expensive, lol now I like it because it really helps narrow down the incredible list of possibilites. We are probably going with A Spice of Life. They are in Boulder CO and are really really wonderful. They take care of so much and are so great. We have worked so hard with their coordinater on getting a menu that is worth eating at a price we could afford, and she has done a wonderful job! We had our first ever tasting today. The food was fantastic! At some point I can post the menu on when we fianlize it if anyone wants. I had a lot of fun with my FI and my family. They actually served us each plate after plate of food, and it was a good presentaion. We will be doing a buffet but they explained that it will be "controlled" portions with a server helping guests. I'm really excited this week! I really feel like I got a lot accomplished and I love my FI and I cant wait to marry him!

This weekend....invites

Yes...this is where my first blog should be. However as you can see it is not here. It left without even the courtesy of a goodbye note. If you happen to see it wondering around out there in cyber world please tell it to come back home. I really don't want to re-write the whole thing. Thanks
